The Value of What You Do at Home

I am so excited about these results because they show how much influence parents have over a child's love for reading. Jim Trelease, author of The Read-Aloud Handbook, shared the above results of a survey of kindergarteners with high and low interest in books. Hopefully, if you needed any further proof of the good you are doing when you bring your child to the library and read to them daily, this is it! Check out more at Jim Trealese's website: http://www.trelease-on-reading.com. He has many resources including excerpts from his book and a bunch of excellent brochures to print out for parents.
